Bertone has announced that the dream car they have designed over the Maserati chassis shared by the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will be named Pandion. The choice is consequent with Bertone’s tradition of naming their spectacular show car with animal names, such as the Alfa Romeo Testudo, Canguro, Carabo and Delfino.

The 2010 Bertone Pandion, designed and built under the direction of Michael, Mike, Robinson, is said to introduce a new design for the two doors opening but there will be more to attract attention.

There is no doubt that the 2+2 coupe, with classic front engine, rear drive architecture is a spectacular piece of car design and positively a dream car with 100% Bertone DNA contents. However it also appear very obvious that Bertone’s designed have greatly admired the BMW Vision concept car presented last September in Frankfurt.

On the other side it is very hard to see an Alfa Romeo in the Pandion, apart from the brand’s large badge in the rear and the lettering of the Maserati engine cover.

Apparently “badge engineering” seems to become too popular (and too dangerous) and the Fiat Group Automobile.

Wow……..!! outstanding model. This is the future car I always imagine such type of car as a next generation car.

feels great by watching your dream car in real.

Have just read the lengthy official Press Release, and would like to know how this vehicle (Pandion) will relate to upcoming Bertone products that are–hopefully–more grounded in reality, rather than in abstract, theoretical design ‘philosophy,’ as espoused by Mike Robinson.
The release also mentions 2 historical Mystery Cars from Seventies: One is called Alfa 199 (“abandoned”). The other is “a proposal for an Alfetta GT.” I’ve actually already seen 2 different photos online which might pertain to them. But since these Mysteries have now been publicized, however obliquely, perhaps Sig. Cornil would release (further?) archival images/renderings of them to yourself upon request?
In any event, it is still gratifying to see Bertone’s return to Geneva.
